Online albums cost more

Since I seem to be sticking to my promise of blogging more often that will often be reflected in the style of post. It'll be shorter and quicker unlike my longer more contemplative (read ranting) posts. Often it'll be a short post about something I've seen on screen that I want to share with you.

nevermind

Here is a shot I took when browsing a large online music (although increasing catch all) retailer. I was baffled when looking up an album to find it was actually cheaper to package the plastic disk, in more plastic and card board and post it to me via "international" shipping with an accompanying paper bill, than to let me download the album in question. By quite some margin.

Still baffled I handed over my credit card details and a few days later voilà it arrived. I say it's unusual because, by that margin, it is. I would advocate paying a small premium for the immediacy of that purchase. Indeed today I purchased, http://is.gd/i1Ik [iTunes store link], Tu Vuó Fa L'Americano, and was willing to pay the $0.99 because I could have it there and then - compared to not being able to buy that single. Paying such a large premium for "less" of a product, the online version, is not the way to win me round to downloadable music.
